Oct 17, 2007 6:22 PM (36 days ago) by Kelsey Volkmann, The Examiner BALTIMORE (Map, News) - Chanting "Who's money? Our money!" more than 200 students and protesters from around Baltimore took to the streets Wednesday to march while asking for increased funding for public schools. The Baltimore Algebra Project routinely pickets to raise awareness about Bradford vs. Maryland State Board of Education, when a judge ruled in 1996 that the state underfunded Baltimore City students by $800 million. The March for Jobs and Education started at City Hall and continued past the Inner Harbor as protesters held signs that read, "No education, no life." "We are tired of them cutting funding for schools," said Ryan Mason, one of the march organizers. "It goes against the students and against the public so we are taking back the streets." Even local hip-hop artists, including Von Vargas, attended.
